Courtesy Visit to TC 58th Chair and KMA Administrator, Dr Miseon Lee, during the 21st WGDRR Annual Meeting in Seoul
During the 21st Annual Meeting of the Working Group on Disaster Risk Reduction (WGDRR) held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, from 19-22 May 2026, the Typhoon Committee Secretary, Dr. Duan Yihong, and Senior Secretary, Ms. Denise Lau, paid a courtesy visit to Dr Miseon Lee, the Chairperson of the ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee and Administrator of the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA).
The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views on the ongoing cooperation and future priorities of the Typhoon Committee, particularly in advancing regional efforts in disaster risk reduction, meteorology, hydrology, and early warning systems. The Secretariat also expressed its sincere appreciation to KMA for its continued strong leadership and support to the Committee.
