Typhoon Committee Secretary Visits JMA

On 30 October 2024, Dr Yihong Duan, Secretary of the ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee, visited Dr Mori Takashi, Director General of the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). Dr Duan noted that Japan is one of the Typhoon Committee’s most active members and has made substantial contributions to its development. He expressed his gratitude to the JMA for its support of the Committee. Dr Mori welcomed Dr Duan’s visit and affirmed that the JMA would continue to support the Typhoon Committee and its Secretariat, strengthening its role within the Committee.
